Attunement

Attunement

Certain Magic Items require a user to attune to them before their magical Properties can be used. Attuning to a magic item requires that you spend an entire Short Rest concentrating on it (this canĂt be the same Short Rest used to learn an item's properties). Once you are attuned to an item, you can use its magical Properties.

Attunement Slots

Being a Denizen of the World of Aeion, and a Child of Aetien, creatures are blessed with the ability to attune to 3 Magic Items.
This Blessing- This Boon Stems from 3 Deities: Aeitien, Gaia, and Sol.

It is said that appeasing the Gods may grant one boons and blessings alike, yet few are willing to disclase such information. Only one who has received such a boon knows this fact. But one fact is certain- if the Gods themselves do grant such a wondrous boon, what need one do to appease them? To do so, one must know the Gods.

Those blessed by many Gods are hailed as heroes- many of whom accomplished many goals in life.

Example Cases

If you're not attuned to a magic item that requires attunement, you benefit from none of its properties. But it is still an object (a sword, a suit of armor, a book, etc.) and functions as such. And it is magical.
A weapon that possesses multiple properties, such as +1, or +2 as well as an elemental enchant may be taken on a case-by-case basis.

Q: I have a +1 Flametongue
A: You lose the elemental bonus, but the sword is still a +1 magical weapon.

Q: I have a hammer of thunderbolts, it has +1 and other properties
A: The +1 is inherent to the hammer of thunderbolts, when not attuned, it is a hammer with a +1 bonus.
